Rules and Regulations

The Film Genesis is open to any writer,
18 or older. By entering the competition you agree give Film Genesis, its partners and affiliates permission to use your name and likeness for promotion purposes without any further or additional compensation. We reserve the right to promote and publicize, through any means available to us, the progress, development, process, news, and success of the entered scripts.
You agree and acknowledge that Film Genesis, its colleagues, partners, consultants and its employees as well as other contestants in this contest may now or in the future work on or develop an idea or concept for a screenplay, film, or script similar to your writing. You hereby hold them harmless and indemnify us against any course of action for similarities in any writing work.
By submitting your work, you hereby affirm or acknowledge the following
- Screenplays must be the original work of the author.
- Author must be 18 years or older.
- Screenplays must be submitted in English
- An entry is only considered complete if the following items have been received:

-- Appropriate entry fee
- Only one copy of the script is required.
- Scripts are not to exceed
15 pages. 12-page scripts are preferred.
- Mailed scripts must be industry standard formatting, and bound with 2 brads
- You affirm that you have kept an original copy of your script for safekeeping.
- No entries will be returned. Each entry becomes the physical property of Film Genesis
- You have registered your work with the appropriate industry recognized script registration/copyright services and/or entities.
- You must have the legal right to submit the screenplay
- If multiple authorship is involved, you have properly and legally listed all authors associated with the script.
- We DO NOT accept animation films under any circumstances.
- Film Genesis does not accept responsibility for items lost in the mail. We do not pick up items from the post office, overnight courier station or other delivery service.
- Once submitted, no substitutions or new drafts may be submitted.
- During the contest, if it should come to pass that, in the opinion of Film Genesis principles, no individual work stands out from the others in a manner conducive to a successful short film production, by our standards, Film Genesis may elect to, and has the irrevocable right to, remove the "production services prize" from the list of prizes and deliver unto the winners the remaining prizes.
